Degree in Food Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande and a PhD from the State University of Campinas. She teaches in the Environmental Engineering and Agronomy programs and is a permanent faculty member in two graduate programs in Environmental and Food Science and Technology. Helen leads the Agro-energy research group and specializes in bioprocesses and microbiology. Her work focuses on enzyme technology, fermentation, biomass, bioenergy, and the use of agro-industrial waste. She has an h-index of 42 on Scopus and 38 on Web of Science.
